Machine operator reported missing after being swept away by floodwater in Quezon

CANDELARIA, Quezon- A 32-year-old machine operator was reportedly swept away by the strong current of water while crossing the spillway aboard a tricycle on Sunday morning, Aug. 9, in Barangay Masalukot 1, this town

The investigation disclosed that at about 1:50 a.m., the victim was traveling from Barangay Masalukot 1, and was crossing the spillway heading towards Barangay Mayabobo when the tricycle he was driving was swept away by the river's strong current, which had overflowed onto the roadway due to continuous rains.
The floodwaters swept away both the victim and the vehicle.
Police said that as of reporting time, the search and rescue operations are ongoing by joint police, municipal disaster risk reduction and management office (MDRRMO), and local barangay officials to locate the victim and recover the tricycle.
