Clearing operations continued in several parts of Quezon City as floodwaters receded amid the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

The Quezon City government, through its Department of Engineering, continued to monitor the situation while clearing accumulated garbage and dirt from affected roads and conducting declogging operations in areas where flooding remained.
Floodwaters subsided in various areas across the city’s six districts.
In District 1, these included N.S. Amoranto Sr. Street corner Banawe Street in Barangay St. Peter; N.S. Amoranto Sr. Street corners Don Jose Street and Palali Street in Barangay Siena; Sto. Domingo corner Calamba Street and Don Jose corner Samat Street in Barangay Sto. Domingo; Don Pepe corner Calamba Street in Barangay Sto. Domingo; and Bernardo corner De Vera Street in Barangay Mariblo.
In District 2, these included AFP Road and Republic Avenue corner Martinzes Street in Barangay Holy Spirit; Urna Compound and Brookside in Barangay Bagong Silangan; Bitoon Street and Doña Carmen in Barangay Commonwealth; Pangasinan Street and Pinaglabanan Extension in Barangay Batasan Hills; and Isla Pulang Bato in Barangay Bagong Silangan.
In District 3, these included 20th Avenue corner Don Jose Street and P. Tuazon Boulevard corner 15th Avenue in Barangay San Roque; P. Tuazon corner Kalantiaw in Barangay Tagumpay; Aurora corner La Salle in Barangay Silangan; F. Castillo Street and Evangelista corner A. Luna Street in Barangay Bagumbuhay; Rajah Matanda corner T. Mascardo in Barangay V. Maria Clara; and Main Avenue corner EDSA in Barangay Socorro.
In District 4, these included G. Araneta Avenue corner Victory Avenue and ROTC Hunters in Barangay Tatalon; G. Araneta corner Baloy Street in Barangay Santol; Waling Waling, Gumamela, and Umbel streets in Barangay Roxas; and V. Luna corner Matimpiin Street in Barangay Pinyahan.
In District 5, the affected area was Regalado Avenue corner Bristol Street in Barangay North Fairview.
In District 6, these included Grace Avenue corner Apacible Street and Parkway Village in Barangay Apolonio Samson; Valeriana Compound in Barangay Sauyo; and Tandang Sora Avenue, D. Munoz, and Banlat Road in Barangay Tandang Sora.
The city government reminded QCitizens to avoid improper garbage disposal that could clog drainage systems and other waterways.
Residents were also urged to remain alert and coordinate with authorities in case of emergencies or urgent needs.
The city government said its retention pond at the Quezon Memorial Circle helped reduce severe flooding in the area during the height of the habagat.
