The Chevrolet Spark EUV has been named the 2026 Electric Car of the Year by the Inter-American Federation of Automotive Journalism, or FIPA. The award was decided through a direct vote by automotive journalists from across the Americas, with vehicles recognized across several major categories.
The Spark EUV is currently available in more than eight markets across the American region. In Brazil, Chevrolet recorded more than 1,000 deliveries in April, a 70-percent increase from the 628 units sold in March. This was its strongest monthly sales performance in South America's largest automotive market at the time.
In the Philippines, the Spark EUV is distributed by Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc., the official distributor of Chevrolet in the country.
"The Chevrolet Spark EUV's recognition as the 2026 Electric Car of the Year by FIPA is a proud milestone that reflects Chevrolet's commitment to delivering innovative, accessible, and customer-focused electric mobility solutions," said Ms. Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, Vice Chairman, President, and CEO of HARI.
Designed primarily for urban driving, the Spark EUV features compact dimensions, modern-retro exterior styling, and a choice of vibrant colors. Inside, it has a spacious cabin and a digital cockpit. Power comes from a 75-kW permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 102 PS and 180 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 41.9-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. Chevrolet quotes a driving range of up to 360 km based on the NEDC test cycle. The Spark EUV supports both AC and DC fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 30 to 80 percent in approximately 35 minutes.
Its driver assistance and safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Safety Features, and a 360-degree Panoramic Camera.
"This award affirms Chevrolet's long-term commitment to shaping the future of mobility and vision of delivering intelligent mobility solutions that respond to the evolving needs of today's drivers. As we continue to expand Chevrolet's electrified portfolio in the Philippines, the Spark EUV demonstrates that sustainability, advanced technology, and everyday practicality can coexist. We are proud to bring this globally recognized electric vehicle to more Filipinos as we help shape a cleaner and smarter future of mobility,” Ms. Perez-Agudo concluded.
The Spark EUV's FIPA award comes as Chevrolet continues offering the electric crossover in the Philippines and other markets across the region.
