BAUAN, Batangas-Three individuals were apprehended for oil pilferage on Sunday evening in Barangay San Pedro, this town, Aug. 9.
Arrested were Junjun, 19, single, helper, of San Pedro, Bauan; Baldwin, 29, driver, married, of Soro-Soro Ibaba, Batangas City, and Norben, 43, single, of San Pedro, Bauan.
At about 8 p.m., Bauan police received a cellular phone call from a concerned citizen regarding an alleged illegal activity of oil pilferage and a foul smell of petroleum products emanating from a compound in the said village.
The informant expressed concern that fire might break out because of this.
The lawmen responded to conduct validation and surveillance.
Upon arrival at the said compound, foul smell of petroleum products was observed, and in plain view, the lawmen saw Junjun in the act of spilling petroleum products on the floor while Baldwin was driving an Isuzu Dropside Truck, with license plate number DXZ680, and Norben was a passenger.
Upon investigation, the suspects admitted that they were members of a crew involved in oil pilferage, and not a single document nor a permit could be presented by the suspects to dispute his.
A bulk container with petroleum products and two pails of petroleum products, and the truck were seized for proper documentation.
An appropriate complaint is being prepared by the police.
