Mamamoo fills Araneta in comeback concert despite bad weather
Neither rains nor floods could stop Filipino fans from enjoying the concert of K-pop group Mamamoo.
Despite the bad weather on Aug. 8, fans trooped to the Araneta Coliseum to ezperience Mamamoo live during the Manila leg of their 4WARD world tour.
Mamamoo, known for their power vocals, opened the show with “Mr. Ambiguous” with members Solar and Moonbyul emerging from the audience area before going up the stage to join Wheein and Hwasa.
This was followed by “Destiny,” “Egotistic,” “4x4ever,” “Piano Man,” “Décalcomanie” and “I Miss You.”
Mamamoo debuted in 2014 and the last time they held a concert in the country was in February 2023.
“Kamusta kayo? (How are you?). It’s only now that we were able to come back here but thank you very much that you haven't forgotten us,” Solar greeted the crowd, adding that the title of their world tour, “4ward,” is all about them moving forward together.
Their setlist is composed of songs from their albums.
Mamamoo also performed “Starry Night,” “Taller Than You,” “Sleep in the Car, “Aze Gag,” “Waggy,” “New York,” “Freakin Shoes,” and “Baton Touch.”
For their solo spots, Hwasa performed “So Cute” while Wheein sang “The Symphony of Fxxkboys,” Moonbyul had “Hertz” and Solar sang “Blues.”
They continued performing as a group with “4 Flowers,” “Aya,” “Hip,” “Dingga,” “Gogobebe,” “Wind Flower,” “You're the Best,” “Um Oh Ah Yeh,” and “Yes I am."
Near the end, they thanked the fans for coming despite the weather.
“We heard how much the Manila Moomoos were looking for us, so we came back. So it was destiny that we met today. It’s been three years since we last visited Manila but it seems that your energy is stronger today,” said Solar.
“Despite the heavy rains, thank you for coming today,” said Moonbyul.
