‎Dagupan folk told to stay on alert as flood persists

‎DAGUPAN CITY -- Mayor Belen Fernandez urged people here to stay alert as several barangays and major roads remain affected by flooding due to continued rains from the southwest monsoon.
‎Fernandez said the Sinucalan River has reached 7.50 meters above sea level (MASL), or above critical level, raising concerns over further flooding in low-lying communities.
‎The mayor stressed that Dagupan, being downstream, continues to receive water from upstream areas.
‎She also said the gates of Ambuklao and Binga dams in Benguet are open for water release, while San Roque Dam in Agno, Pangasinan remains under monitoring.
Residents in flood-prone areas were urged to remain vigilant, secure important belongings, and prepare for possible evacuation if water levels continue to rise.
The city government, barangays, and frontline response teams remain on alert to assist affected communities.
‎“Alam kong nakakapagod na (It is already tiring),” Fernandez said, acknowledging the difficulty faced by residents from the situation.
