‎College student yields P1,500 marijuana

BACOLOD CITY - An 18-year-old first year college student was recently caught with suspected marijuana valued at P1,500 during a routine inspection in a private university here, just a few days since their class opening this month.
‎According to the police, the contraband was initially found inside the student’s pocket while school guards were frisking students as part of heightened campus security measures.
‎Additional sachets of suspected marijuana inside the student’s water tumbler were discovered during further inspection.
‎The Bacolod City Police Office reported that the student was classified as a street- level individual.
‎He was turned over by school security personnel to the police along with 10 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P1,500 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
‎Police Col. Eugene Rebadomia, Bacolod police director, commended the prompt action of security personnel and reiterated the importance of community participation in the campaign against illegal drugs.
‎He encouraged people to continue working closely with the police by reporting any suspicious activities involving illegal drugs.
‎A 17-year-old high school student was also caught with P960 worth of marijuana, along with a ceramic pipe, a pair of scissors, and a lighter, in a routine inspection in a public school here last month.
