After making headlines with his confession that he cheated on Bianca Umali, Ruru Madrid appeared to put the controversy aside as he and Bianca spent the weekend together on a road trip.

Bianca posted a glimpse of their road trip in an Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 8.

“Sponty road trips are the best with the bestie!” Bianca wrote in her caption.

The post came days after Ruru’s cheating confession went viral, prompting a wave of comments on both their Instagram accounts. Despite the renewed attention, Bianca’s post showed the couple seemingly carrying on with their weekend as usual.

During his “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” appearance, Ruru was asked about his previous statement that cheaters can change. Looking back on the mistake he made, the actor took accountability and said he remains grateful that Bianca eventually gave him another chance.

“Siguro ’yon ’yong pinagpapasalamat ko kay Bianca na kahit po nagkamali ako during that time. I was 20 years old at hindi ko naman po sinasabing dahilan ’yong pagkabata sa ginawa kong pagkakamali, pero siguro itinuturing ko rin siyang blessing in disguise somehow,” Ruru said.

Ruru also said their temporary breakup made him realize just how important Bianca was to him.

“Dahil from there, nakita ko po talaga ang kahalagahan ni Bianca. Nag-break kami ng 8 months but now 8 years na po kami. Tinanggap niya ako ulit. Kasi ang Diyos nga natin marunong magpatawad. At ’yong cheating choice talaga siya,” he added.

Ruru and Bianca began dating in 2018 but publicly confirmed their relationship in 2022.
