A landslide occurred in a barangay in Taguig, prompting the city government to evacuate affected individuals.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the heavy rains in Metro Manila and other areas are caused by the southwest monsoon.
Personnel from the Taguig City government responded to the landslide along Medel Extension in Barangay Central Signal.
It said personnel from the Barangay Affairs Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Incident Management Team, Search and Rescue Team, and the Bureau of Fire Protection were deployed to the area.
One family was immediately evacuated while four others were being evacuated.
Employees conducted intake interviews and food assistance was given to the family.
“To ensure everyone’s safety, residents are advised to avoid the area and follow instructions from authorities,” the city government said.
