The contest, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., was delayed for about 25 minutes due to multiple wet spots on the court. The game eventually pushed through after league officials assessed the venue as playable.

However, the game was halted again with 1:06 left in the first quarter as heavy rains continued to pour, causing more leaks inside the venue.

Both teams waited another 15 minutes before play resumed, with San Miguel leading the import-less Macau, 35-20.

The delay came less than 24 hours after Friday’s game between Magnolia and Meralco was also paused due to a strong roof leak at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The continuous rain across Metro Manila and nearby provinces was caused by the combined effects of the southwest monsoon and Tropical Depression “Maymay.”
