Robbery suspect nabbed, CCTV used to recover gadget in Taguig

Police arrested a 51-year-old man, tagged as the No. 6 most wanted person, who is a suspect in a robbery hold-up case in Taguig on Aug. 7. 

Personnel from the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Makati police arrested the suspect, identified as alias Poknat, Guiho Extension, Barangay Cembo, Taguig. 

He was nabbed based on a warrant of arrest with a recommended bail of P100,000 issued on Aug. 4 by Presiding Judge Ryan Philipp Lao Bartolome of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 30

Police turned him over to the  police’s custodial facility. 

Meanwhile, the Taguig police recovered a stolen cell phone through CCTV tracking and coordination with barangay officials. 

The cell phone was taken from a counter of a chicken store at C5 Waterfun, Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig, last Aug. 2. 

After they received a report, police personnel conducted CCTV tracking to establish the suspect’s movements. The footage showed the suspect going to Barangay Central Signal and later to Barangay South Signal.

The police returned to Barangay South Signal on Aug. 6 and reviewed available CCTV footage, which indicated that the suspect went back to Barangay Central Signal.

CCTV tracking eventually paid off when the police discovered that the suspect entered a cell phone repair shop in Barangay Central Signal. Through coordination with the shop owner, the police recovered the stolen cell phone.

The police turned over the cell phone to the owner but the victim decided not to file a complaint against the suspect. 

The Southern Police District commended the Taguig police personnel for their prompt response and CCTV tracking that led to the recovery of the item.
