33 families evacuate in Valenzuela amid rising water levels

The Valenzuela City government said 33 families sought shelter in evacuation centers as a precaution amid rising water levels caused by continuous rains on Saturday, Aug. 8.

According to the city’s Public Information Office, 15 families are staying at Valenzuela National High School in Barangay Marulas, while 18 families have evacuated to Luis Francisco Elementary School in Barangay Veinte Reales.

The city government said the evacuation centers are ready to accommodate more residents, with food supplies and disaster kits prepared for those who may need to leave their homes.

Search and rescue vehicles, as well as medical teams, have also been placed on standby for possible emergency response.

The City Veterinary Services Office is also prepared to accommodate the pets of evacuees, with cages readied for their use.

Meanwhile, the Alagang Valenzuelano Kitchen on Wheels has been placed on standby to provide hot meals to displaced families.

The city government said monitoring and response operations are continuing across Valenzuela and urged residents to follow instructions from authorities if evacuation becomes necessary.

Residents who are advised to leave their homes were told to proceed to their designated barangay evacuation centers.
