Waltz turns quiet acts of kindness into new single 'Alitaptap'

Some people drift into our lives sans fanfare, yet end up leaving the biggest mark. They may not stay forever, but their presence comes at the right time, offering comfort, encouragement or simply the reassurance that someone is there when it matters most.

It is this quiet kind of connection that inspired OPM singer-songwriter Waltz's latest single, "Alitaptap."

"May mga tao na parang ganito. Hindi sila laging nandiyan. Pero kapag nandiyan sila, sobrang liwanag," he said, explaining the idea behind the song.

Waltz said he hopes listeners will relate it to their own experiences with people who helped them through difficult times. Its chorus, built around the line "Akin ka na," is meant to express a quiet hope instead of a sweeping declaration of love.

The release also marks the launch of "#AkingAlitaptap," a campaign encouraging listeners to share stories about the people who became a source of strength during some of their darkest moments.

"Gusto ko hindi lang basta pakinggan ang kanta. Gusto kong ma-feel ng tao na kanya rin siya — kasi baka siya rin, may sariling alitaptap na hindi pa niya nasasabi kung gaano kahalaga," Waltz said.
Selected stories will be featured in a series of online videos in which Waltz reads fan submissions.

"Alitaptap" follows Waltz's previous single, "Marahuyo." 

Released under Ant Savvy Artist Management (AS Creatives & Entertainment Inc.) and distributed by Symphonic, "Alitaptap" is now available on major streaming platforms.
