Lights, mics, nominations: Awit Awards 2026 contenders revealed

  • The 39th Awit Awards has unveiled this year's nominees, with SB19, IV of Spades, Cup of Joe, Ben&Ben, Dionela, Maki and other OPM stars competing for the Philippine music industry's highest honors.

Philippine music's awards season has officially begun, bringing with it the annual celebration of the industry's biggest hits, breakthrough artists and creative achievements — along with the inevitable debates over who made the cut and who was left out.

The organizers of the 39th Awit Awards on Friday unveiled this year's nominees, with chart-toppers, OPM mainstays and rising acts competing across dozens of categories in what is widely regarded as the Philippine music industry's equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

Among the contenders for the night's top honor, Album of the Year, are Cup of Joe's "Silakbo," SB19's "DAM," Ben&Ben's "Saranggola," IV of Spades' "Konsensya," and Dionela featuring Loonie's "Ikigai."

For Song of the Year, the nominees include IV of Spades' "Aura," Fitterkarma's "Pag-Ibig Ay Kanibalismo II," SB19's "DUNGKA!," IV of Spades' "Kabisado," Maki's "Kahel Na Langit," and Dionela and Loonie's "Ikigai."

The race for Best New Artist features Gab Cabangon, New Lore, VVINK and DJ Love featuring Pio Balbuena, Jamiela, and It All Started in May.

Behind the scenes, Brian Lotho, Shadiel Chan, John Paulo Nase, Joshua Daniel Nase and Tim Dionela are among the nominees for Producer of the Year, while John Paulo Nase, Joshua Daniel Nase, Blaster Silonga, Daniel Zildjian Benitez, Tim Dionela, Lola Amour, Joao De Leon and Marlon Peroramas are competing for Songwriter of the Year.

In the performance categories, Janine Berdin, Maki, Noel Cabangon, dwta, Rico Blanco, Rob Deniel and Jay R are nominated for Best Performance by a Solo Artist.

Best Collaboration Performance includes Sarah Geronimo and SB19's "Umaaligid," One Click Straight and Clara Benin's "Telepono," Jason Dhakal and Oliver Cronin, BINI featuring Agnez Mo's "Blink Twice," Lola Amour and KOKORO of PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE's "The Moment," and ZIV with Jolianne's "Kuryente."

SB19 also landed nominations for "DUNGKA!" in Best Dance/Electronic Recording and for its music videos, while IV of Spades, Dionela, Cup of Joe, Maki and Ben&Ben earned multiple nominations across the grand, performance and technical award categories.

The Awit Awards, presented annually by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), recognize excellence in recorded music and honor achievements in artistry, songwriting, production and technical craftsmanship across the Philippine music industry.
