Las Piñas buy-bust nets 2 drug pushers; P710K worth of shabu, kush seized

A joint anti-illegal drug operation in Las Piñas City resulted in the arrest of two alleged drug personalities and the confiscation of P710,000 worth of suspected shabu and kush (cannabis) late Thursday, August 6.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspects only by their aliases Nerissa, 34, a rice seller, and Eugene, 26, a housekeeper, both residents of Parañaque City.
Police said the two were classified as newly identified high-value individuals (HVIs) involved in the illegal drug trade.
The suspects were arrested at about 10:50 p.m. along Banaba Street, Barangay CAA B.F.F. International, Las Piñas City after operatives of the SPD-District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), in coordination with the Las Piñas City Police, carried out a successful buy-bust operation.
Recovered from the suspects were 100 grams of shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P680,000, and 20 grams of kush (cannabis) contained valued at P30,000.
Police also confiscated the marked buy-bust money and a mobile phone allegedly used in arranging the illegal drug transaction.
The seized drugs were submitted for laboratory examination, while the suspects were taken to the SPD-DDEU custodial facility.
They will be charged with violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
