In “Seams of Memory,” Winna Go shows us the artist's heartfelt journey to hone her talent over the years. Now, it's forever immortalized as a hardbound book. As guests enter the Metropolitan Museum of Metro Manila, the first thing they’ll likely notice by the lobby entrance is the inviting canvas that is the “Circle of Vitality.” Its square pieces feel like a quilt that is made up of fragments from all of Winna’s works on display. Once it draws you inside, you see the very pieces that helped bring the centerpiece to life.

At first glance, it may seem like similar Chinese dresses replicated over the years, but as you take a closer look, you’ll prove this assumption wrong. Every fold and pattern on the dresses paints a different story. With “Vessel of Abundance,” we see just how seamlessly she forms these patterns on the dresses. It almost feels lifelike and ready to be worn. Meanwhile, “Embroidered Thoughts” grants us this window into the eyes of the artist. It lets us see the dresses that act as the exhibit’s unifying theme and how looming family photos and heirlooms paint a picture of her heritage.

From her book, titled after the exhibit, this process is explored even further. It showcases Winna’s work and accompanies it with a style of Chinese poetry known as jueju.
