The Boyz to stay together amid legal conflict with former agency

Nine of the 10 members of K-pop act The Boyz have decided to continue as a group amid legal dispute with their former agency.

The Boyz’s Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo and Eric, excluding New, announced on Aug. 6 that they reached a consensus to continue their group activities together and finalized their collective activity contracts.

They are currently preparing for activities under a newly established label system.

Under the set-up, they will continue as The Boyz but their individual activities will be handled by separate agencies.

They plan to carry out group activities in parallel through a cooperative system between agencies.

"Our resolve that all nine of us must stay together has remained unchanged from the beginning. Above all, we wanted to convey our intentions first to the fans who have been waiting for and worrying about The Boyz's group activities,” they said.

They promised to repay their fans with good performance and asked them for their support.

Last February, the nine members of The Boyz, excluding New, notified their agency, One Hundred Label, of their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts.

In April, a court granted The Boyz’s application for an injunction to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts.

One Hundred Label stated that the court’s decision was a temporary measure.
