Police arrest hit-and-run suspect in Laguna

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police arrested a hit-and-run suspect on Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
Police Brig. Gen. Dominic Baccay, PRO 4-A director, said suspect Jahn attempted to evade the impending repossession of his vehicle at the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Santa Rosa office on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Jahn pretended to retrieve a personal item, entered the car, started the engine, rammed through the facility's security gate, and fled towards Balibago Road.
The suspect crashed into multiple vehicles and injured motorists and passengers.
He stopped at the Santa Rosa Toll Plaza, abandoned the vehicle, and fled on foot.
The injured victims were taken to a hospital.
Jahn was nabbed in a hot-pursuit operation.
He was taken to the Santa Rosa Component City Police Station for documentation and filing of appropriate charges.
Baccay cited operating units for the swift apprehension on the suspect.
