Woman stabs live-in partner to death, kicks him on road in QC

A 29-year-old man was stabbed to death by his 22-year-old live-in partner, who was caught on CCTV kicking him as he lay on the road in Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City, early Sunday morning, Aug. 2.
Police said the couple had been drinking separately before meeting at their house, where they figured in a heated argument.
Lt. Benhur Jose, duty officer of the Novaliches Police, said the victim confronted the suspect for allegedly hurting his child from a previous relationship, which allegedly triggered the stabbing.
The victim managed to run about 15 meters from their house after being stabbed before collapsing on the street, where CCTV footage showed the suspect catching up with him and kicking him several times while he lay helpless on the ground.
The victim was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival after sustaining a stab wound to the chest.
Responding officers arrested the suspect at the scene on Aug. 2 and recovered the kitchen knife believed to have been used in the killing.
The suspect claimed she stabbed the victim after he allegedly hurt her.
The victim's mother denied the allegation, insisting that her son never hurt the suspect.
She also said she could not believe the suspect was capable of killing her son and kicking him while he was already lying on the road.
The suspect is under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) and is facing a murder complaint.
