Marcos visits SHFC's Expanded 4PH housing project in Davao City

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday visited the People’s Ville in Barangay Riverside, Calinan District, Davao City, underscoring the administration’s commitment to providing safe, decent, and affordable homes for Filipino families.
The vertical housing project is one of the President’s major initiatives under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program, implemented by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) led by Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling through the Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) under President and CEO Federico Laxa.
Joined by Aliling, Laxa, and Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta, Marcos personally checked the completed buildings now occupied by more than 400 families who are beneficiaries of the SHFC 4PH project.
Aliling said the development of People’s Ville, one of the largest socialized housing projects in the country, demonstrates how the Expanded 4PH is translating the President’s vision into concrete results. “It is a testament to our commitment to making housing more accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of our people,” he added.
Laxa said the President’s presence at the project served as a strong motivation for SHFC to further intensify its efforts under the Expanded 4PH. “His visit inspires us to work even harder to deliver housing that gives Filipino families not only a secure home, but also dignity, stability, and hope for a better future,” he added.
Located along the Davao-Bukidnon Road, People’s Ville occupies a more than 14 hectares of residential site owned by SHFC.
Once fully completed, it will provide 7,200 housing units across 72 five-story buildings. Each unit has an approximate floor area of 28 square meters.
To date, 26 buildings, equivalent to 2,600 units, have been completed, while four additional buildings, or 400 units, are under construction.
