Las Piñas schools enforce stricter security after threats, stabbing

The Las Piñas City government has rolled out stricter security protocols across public schools following a reported social media threat against CAA National High School and the recent fatal stabbing of a 13‑year‑old student at Las Piñas National High School.
Mayor April Aguilar said students at CAA National High School are now required to undergo security screening before entering the campus.
Measures include walkthrough body scanners, handheld metal detectors, and mandatory bag inspections to prevent prohibited items from being brought inside.
Aguilar explained that the city government immediately reinforced security after the reported threat, while also extending the measures to all public schools in response to the stabbing incident allegedly involving a 14‑year‑old child in conflict with the law.
The intensified security is being implemented in coordination with the Las Piñas City Police to maintain peace and order in and around campuses, ensuring a safe learning environment for students, teachers, and school personnel.
The mayor urged students, parents, and school staff to cooperate with authorities and promptly report suspicious activity or prohibited items inside school premises.
