At the YouTube Works Awards Philippines 2026, the country's premier gathering of creators, brands, agencies, and advertisers, Google unveiled the nation’s most creative and effective marketing campaigns on YouTube, highlighting how brands leverage the platform’s high-value ecosystem to turn audience attention into measurable business results.
Google Philippines Country Manager Prep Palacios said, “From Shorts and long-form videos to living-room TV content, podcasts, and online shopping, YouTube has built a complete ecosystem that connects with millions of Filipinos every single day across every screen and format. But our true differentiator is trust. When 8 out of 10 local viewers trust product recommendations from YouTube creators, watching turns into ‘sulit’ or wise purchase decisions on our platform. By supercharging this authentic creator influence with our scale and Google AI capabilities, YouTube provides a high-value space where brands can thrive and deliver higher ROI.”
This deep engagement is reflected across the entire platform as Filipinos integrate YouTube into every part of their daily routines. Whether tuning in for news programs, catching up on Shorts drama, deep diving into trends, or finding community, local audiences are spending more time watching across all formats. In fact, more than 19 million Filipinos now stream YouTube directly on their Connected TVs (CTV), while year-over-year uploads for YouTube Shorts surged by over 90% in the Philippines.
YouTube’s High-Value Ecosystem: Culture, Creators, and Commerce
YouTube’s impact rests on three foundational pillars driving the country’s digital media transformation:
Culture: As the #1 video platform in the Philippines, reaching more consumers across screens on a daily basis than all other video platforms, YouTube connects millions of Filipinos to their favorite culture-shapers across every genre, whether that is chart-topping artists like BINI, hyperlocal favorites like ABS-CBN’s Kuan on One with Melai, deep Pinoy subcultures like Dogshow Divas, or high-production food storytelling from Erwan Heussaff’s FEATR. YouTube is the epicenter of culture where every layer of Pinoy fandoms unfolds together in one place.

Creators: YouTube is the home of trusted creators, with 81% of surveyed Filipino viewers agreeing that YouTube creators make trustworthy product recommendations, outperforming other digital platforms. While a trusted creator's organic content is highly engaging, its reach is inherently limited to their existing followers. To scale the impact of their authentic voices, brands can now leverage YouTube Creator Partnerships, which have just rolled out in the Philippines.
YouTube Creator Partnerships is a suite of tools that makes it easier than ever for brands to discover and collaborate with YouTube creators. With smart search powered by AI, marketers can find creators by keyword, category, or trend—and view detailed insights like audience demographics and engagement—before reaching out. Once a partnership is formed, brands can promote the creator’s content as ads using Creator Partnerships Boost (formerly known as Partnership Ads) and measure what’s performing best. It’s a one-stop shop to turn creator collaborations into real business results.
Commerce: YouTube drives retail growth by turning product discovery into a seamless checkout experience. Local viewers rank YouTube as the top platform for shopping content—relying on instructional videos (95%), unboxing videos (89%), and product reviews (87%) from trusted creators. Through the YouTube Shopping affiliate program, viewers can easily buy tagged products featured in videos while creators earn commissions on every sale. For brands today with storefronts on Shopee or Lazada, Commerce Media Suite connects high-intent shoppers straight from a YouTube ad to the checkout page. By leveraging real-time shopping insights—like what users are searching for or adding to their carts—marketplaces and brands can serve highly relevant ads to viewers while they watch YouTube.
YouTube brings together massive multicultural reach with the influence of trusted creators across millions of Filipinos. Google’s Gemini AI advantage powers this ecosystem by understanding viewer intent and matching it with the right products and creators, building a high-value ecosystem where brands can thrive and drive results. Demonstrating this business impact, an Analytic Edge meta-analysis shows that YouTube delivers 2X higher ROI than linear TV.

YouTube Works Awards: GCash Leads the Charge with High-Impact Creative
Taking home the evening's highest honor as the Best of Philippines winner, GCash demonstrated how high-impact creative on YouTube can address real consumer anxieties while driving top-tier performance. Facing the challenge of making financial emergency safety nets accessible to Filipino breadwinners, GCash bypassed technical financial jargon with its GLoan "Free Health Insurance" campaign.
GCash won over audiences by tapping into humor, relatable "close call" moments, and an unforgettably catchy jingle. By pairing storytelling with a complete media strategy that spanned 60-second hero films down to quick six-second bumper ads, layered with Google’s AI-powered conversion campaigns, the brand seamlessly converted viewer attention into actual loan applications, driving a 14.5% growth in daily users and a 36.7% increase in daily disbursements.
Search interest for "Free Health Insurance" jumped 684% alongside a 7-point brand attribute lift in “Brand I can depend on for emergency or additional funds.” The campaign furthermore reduced customer acquisition costs by 95% compared to standard search baselines.

"For many Filipinos, providing for the family means finding ways to make every peso count. But when emergencies happen, having quick access to a financial ‘lifeline’ or a loan can make all the difference." said Neil Trinidad, Chief Marketing Officer of GCash. In the end, we didn’t just make GLoan more memorable—we made protection more accessible. Winning Best of Market reflects how YouTube helps us connect authentically with Filipinos, proving that when you create value for people, you create value for the business."
