Biazon warns Muntinlupa employees who violate the law

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon gave an ultimatum to city government employees that they will face dismissal from the service if they break the law. 

“Walang puwang ang pasaway sa Pamahalaang Lungsod. Magsilbi sana itong last warning sa sinumang empleyado ng City Government na lalabag sa batas: Hindi ko na kayo ipapatawag. Sa susunod, pauuwiin ko na lang kayo (There is no room for disobedient [employees] in the City Government. I hope this will serve as a last warning to any City Government employee who violates the law: I will no longer summon you. Next time, I will just send you home),” he said. 

Biazon’s warning came after several law violations of city government employees were posted on social media. One employee was caught riding a motorcycle without a helmet. 

They were summoned to the mayor’s office but he said it was tiring to repeatedly chastise them before they comply. 

“It is not tolerable anymore. Hindi puwedeng tayo ang nagpapatupad ng batas pero tayo rin ang unang lumalabag. Nawawalan tayo ng kredibilidad bilang law enforcers at bilang public servants (We cannot be the ones enforcing the law but we are also the first to violate it. We are losing credibility as law enforcers and as public servants),” said Biazon. 

He advised employees to stay away from acts that will tarnish the image of the city government, saying discipline and accountability should start from them.
