‎MAP tackles agribusiness chain in general membership meeting in Iloilo City

‎ILOILO CITY — The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) tackled how to strengthen the agribusiness chain to support growth in the global market during its general membership meeting held in Iloilo.
‎
‎Damosa Lands President Ricardo “Cary” Floirendo Lagdameo and SM Supermalls President Steven Tan gave keynote presentations anchored on the theme “From Farm to Global Markets: Strengthening Regional Value Chains."
‎
‎Lagdameo’s presentation on “Attracting Global Capital to Regional Agribusiness” shared  lessons from Mindanao as a growing investment destination.
‎
‎He cited their 63-hectare Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE), which attracted global investors and  offered opportunities and contributed to the inclusive growth of Mindanao and its people.
‎
‎In his presentation “Helping Local Small Businesses Grow,” Tan shared the formula of SM in helping shape the local circular economy with its various malls across the country.
‎
‎Terence Uygongco, chairman of the Iloilo Economic Development Foundation Inc. (ILED), tackled how Iloilo is aiming to become a bamboo economic powerhouse in Southeast Asia by 2030.
‎
‎This is the second consecutive year MAP held its meeting in Iloilo, seen as a major investment destination outside of Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.
‎
‎Among the MAP officials present were President Donald Lim, Vice President Marianne “Maan” Hontiveros, Treasurer Wilson Tan, and Executive Director Arnold Salvador.
‎
‎New MAP members were  inducted during the July 31 meeting attended by key local officials, including Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr.
