Ex-PDL pens heartfelt message to Mandaluyong jail officer for kindness

In a sincere appreciation, a Mandaluyong City Jail Male Dormitory (MCJMD) officer received a touching letter from the facility’s former person deprived of liberty (PDL) who expressed gratitude for being treated with dignity during his detention.

The anonymous ex-PDL praised Jail Officer (JO1) Venny Rhose Dang-Iw for her assistance, especially during the need to confer with the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).

As the Human Rights Affairs Officer and Helpdesk officer, the MCJMD pointed out that Dang-Iw plays a vital role in safeguarding the PDLs’ rights and welfare.

In the letter, the former inmate said that Dang-Iw “took the time to assist me in drafting my compromise agreement, which became an important step toward the temporary dismissal of my case.’’

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to JO1 Venny Rhose Dang-Iw for the kindness, compassion, and assistance she extended to me during the time I was detained at MCJMD,’’ the ex-PDL noted.

During the very difficult time of incarceration, the ex-PDL recognized Dang-Iw for her willingness to help, “despite not being obligated to do so, gave me hope and made me feel that someone genuinely cared about my situation.’’

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you, JO1 Venny Rhose Dang-Iw, for your selfless service and compassion. May God continue to bless you with good health, strength, and success in your career. The positive impact you made in my life is something I will never forget," the ex-PDL said.

Thank you very much, and may you continue to inspire others through your kindness and commitment to serving people,’’ the ex-PDL noted.

Through her professionalism, compassion, and commitment to service, the MCJMD maintained that Dang-Iw ensured that concerns are addressed with fairness, respect, and integrity while fostering an environment that upholds human dignity.
