Workers rally at Pasig court over halted P85 wage hike

The rally took place outside Pasig RTC Branch 152 during the first hearing on the petition to stop the enforcement of Wage Order No. NCR-27.
The wage order, issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board–National Capital Region, mandates an P85 increase in the daily minimum wage of private sector workers in Metro Manila.
Its implementation, however, remains suspended pending further court proceedings.
Protesters carried placards with messages such as “Dagdag sahod namin huwag agawin (Do not take away our wage increase),” “Nakakabuhay na sahod P1,200 nationwide (A living wage of P1,200 nationwide),” and “Naging bigas na sana yung P85, na-holdap pa ni judge (The P85 could have bought rice, but the judge took it away).”
Meanwhile, the Pasig City Police Station said the rally remained peaceful.
Pasig City police chief Col. Hendrix Mangaldan reported that security measures were in place and maximum tolerance was observed throughout the protest.
He added that the demonstrators voluntarily dispersed without incident.
The Pasig City Police Station said it will continue to ensure public safety through police visibility and proactive security deployment in coordination with the Pasig City government and other stakeholders.
