Muntinlupa police probe Instagram stabbing threat vs 2 students
Police will try to unmask the identity of an Instagram user who threatened to stab two students of Muntinlupa Business High School (MBHS) in Barangay Buli, Muntinlupa.
On Aug. 1, parent Juliet De Jesus Lopena posted on Facebook a screenshot of a message sent by “Brent” to an MBHS student, threatening to stab her and a classmate on Aug. 3.
They coordinated with the MBHS Guidance Office, which confirmed that the school administration was aware of the online post and had already implemented measures.
Police assured the school of intensified visibility and foot patrols in the premises and nearby areas to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.
The Instagram account of the suspect is no longer accessible. The student and her grandmother told the police that they don’t know the person behind the threatening message.
Based on their investigation, the police said no untoward incident was reported.
The Muntinlupa police will request the Philippine National Police PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) to help in determining the identify of the Instagram account used in sending the message.
