Batangas cops seize 193 illegal firearms

PRO 4-A nets P29.5-M illegal drugs in July

BATANGAS CITY – Batangas police seized 193 loose firearms during operations in the province from May to July.
Police Col. Oliver Ebora, Batangas police chief, presented these to Police Brig. Gen. Dominic Baccay, Police Regional Office 4-A director, during his visit Monday, Aug. 3.
Baccay cited operating units for their achievements that prevented the proliferation of firearms on the streets that may be used to commit crimes.
He assured that the campaign won’t stop until the province is rid of all loose firearms. These will be turned over to crime laboratory for ballistic examination.
Baccay urged owners of unlicensed firearms to voluntarily surrender their weapons.
The Police Regional Office 4-A said Monday that 1,208 drug personalities and illegal drugs valued at P29.6 million were seized during 942 operations in the Calabarzon region from July 1 to July 31.
Baccay said operating units recovered 4,333.59 grams of shabu, 245.58 grams of marijuana, and 43.46 grams of kush.
He vowed to sustain aggressive anti-illegal drug operations and ensure that those who continue to violate the law are brought to justice.
Suspects are in the custody of arresting units and facing appropriate charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
