CEBU CITY – Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing the house of a trial court judge in Argao town, Cebu province.
The suspects, aged 21 and 19, were apprehended in a follow-up operation that the Argao police conducted after the house of Judge Noel Darren Damian of the Regional Trial Court Branch 26 was burglarized on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2.
Investigation showed that the suspects broke into the judge’s house in Barangay Poblacion through a window.
The suspects seized three gold rings, 17 US dollar bills of various denominations, and P600.
The theft was reported to the police and a manhunt operation led to suspects who lived across the judge’s house. Police said the two men admitted to the crime.
The stolen items were recovered from the suspects’ possession, police said.
Police said the suspects hesitated to sell the three pieces of jewelry for fear that they would be caught.
Robbery charges will be filed against the suspects.
