Makati buy-bust nets P542K worth of ketamine, shabu

An operation meant to arrest a lone drug suspect ended with two men in custody after another allegedly arrived to obtain illegal drugs during a buy‑bust in Makati City, where police seized P542,160 worth of shabu and ketamine.
Operatives of the Makati City Police Station conducted the operation on July 31 in Barangay San Isidro, where an undercover officer arranged to purchase suspected shabu from a 39-year-old suspect, identified only as "Michael.”
However, another man, identified as “Randy,” arrived at the scene to obtain illegal drugs while the operation was underway, prompting police to arrest both individuals.
Recovered from the suspects were approximately 6.2 grams of suspected shabu worth P42,160 and 100 grams of suspected ketamine worth P500,000, along with drug paraphernalia.
Ketamine is an anesthetic used in medical and veterinary settings but is also misused as a recreational drug. Its misuse can pose serious health and societal risks.
Both suspects were taken into custody and will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco emphasized that the SPD remains committed to dismantling illegal drug operations and maintaining peace and order across the district.
