Kris Aquino shared a personal update as she marked the 17th death anniversary of her mother, former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino.
In an Instagram post, Kris admitted that the sadness has not yet faded whenever she recalls what her mother went through before finally passing away in 2009.
“We accepted her death intellectually because we witnessed how much she suffered. But can someone you cherished ever be forgotten?” she wrote.
Kris said she and her sons honored Cory’s death anniversary in different ways this year.
Josh, she said, visited his grandmother’s grave, while Bimby rushed home after the “Eat Bulaga” 47th anniversary celebration to be with Kris during another treatment.
“I promised my sons I was going to fight until the end. I have never given details about the treatments that failed, the nights I cried until sunrise because the bones from 3 inches above my knee all the way to my ankle and up to the soles of my feet hurt with such cruelty," Kris said.
She continued: "I broke my rule and sobbed in Bimb’s arms. No child, especially one raised by a single parent, should ever see the pain their mama or papa goes through because to worry is ours and not theirs."
Kris shared that she will have another infusion on Wednesday and closed her post with a prayer for her late mother.
“Mom, please continue looking after your baby? Because I have 6’3 & 6’2 giant babies who pray every day and believe that God does answer prayers,” Kris ended her post.
