Actors Alden Richards and Barbie Forteza have been recognized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as among the country's top taxpayers, with the agency also commending their efforts to promote responsible tax compliance.
Richards was cited as one of the Philippines' highest taxpayers for 2025. Accepting the recognition, he said paying taxes is only one part of nation-building and encouraged both citizens and government workers to contribute to the country's progress and the welfare of Filipinos.
Forteza described the recognition as both an honor and a responsibility, noting that tax collections help support essential government services, including healthcare, education and public welfare programs.
Richards currently stars in "Love Siargao" and is set to appear in the upcoming medical drama "Code Grey."
