James Reid reflects on true wealth amid TV comeback, music resurgence

James Reid says he has reached a point in his life where being "rich" means far more than having money, as the actor-singer enjoys one of the busiest chapters of his career with a hit teleserye, new music, and an upcoming movie.

During a recent interview, James shared that true wealth goes beyond material possessions and is measured by the impact a person has on others.

"There's material wealth, and there's inner wealth. And I think that being rich is just not about how much that you have, it's about how much you can give," he said.

"Having good relationships, I think, is probably the number one factor," James added.

The realization, he said, came while writing his song "Richest Man Alive," which was released in May under Sony Music Entertainment Philippines.

"I was just writing this song... and then I realized, you know what, I am rich in life," he recalled, adding that the track reflects the love and fulfillment he has experienced.

James' outlook comes as his career continues to gain momentum.

After nearly a decade away from primetime television, he returned to teleseryes through ABS-CBN's feel-good drama "Someone, Someday," where he stars opposite Kathryn Bernardo. The pairing has generated excitement among fans, especially those who have long hoped to see the two actors work together.

James previously described the series as a modern, lighthearted drama with an inspiring friendship at its core, saying it offers something different from his previous acting projects.

Beyond television and music, James is also preparing to explore another milestone in his career. He is set to make his horror debut in Regal Entertainment's Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Haunted Carnival."
