Emergency water interruption hits Tondo, Binondo on Aug. 1

An emergency water supply interruption will affect parts of Manila on Saturday, Aug. 1, due to urgent repair works on a major pipeline.

In an advisory, authorities said the shutdown is necessary to fix a defective 800-millimeter primary line gate valve located in the Muelle area.

The service interruption is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Affected areas include:

-No water supply in parts of North Manila.
-Low to no water pressure in Binondo and Tondo.

Residents are advised to store enough water ahead of the scheduled repair and expect normalization of service after the completion of the works.
