Volunteer group seeks witness in mauling of community cat Ghost

A volunteer group is still seeking a witness who can execute an affidavit in the mauling of community cat Ghost in Taguig.
Ghost was mauled by three huskies on April 16 in McKinley West, Taguig, and was later euthanized.
Cats of McKinley, a volunteer group on Facebook, said: “Unfortunately, despite our efforts, we have not been able to secure a witness willing and able to execute an affidavit and testify if needed. Without a witness, the case cannot move forward.”
The group said they have consulted animal welfare lawyers for legal options and have spent three months gathering evidence and trying to find witnesses.
“While we may no longer have significant updates to share, our inbox will always remain open should anyone with firsthand knowledge of the incident decide to come forward,” they added.
Two witnesses executed affidavits but later decided not to proceed with filing a complaint.
“We hope Ghost's story serves as a reminder to all who care for community animals to stay vigilant. If you witness animal cruelty or a similar incident, please report it through the proper channels as soon as possible and document what you saw. Legal cases rely on firsthand accounts and evidence, and those who come forward can be guided and supported throughout the process,” Cats of McKinley said.
