Police nab 2 drug suspects, seize P1.3-M shabu in Bulacan

Bulacan police intercepted nearly P1.34 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two drug suspects in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Pulong Sampalok, Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Thursday night, July 30.

Col. Jay B. Baybayan, acting Bulacan police director, said the buy-bust was conducted around 7:30 p.m. by the DRT Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and the Bulacan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The suspects, identified only as “Marivic” and “Rey,” were caught with about 197 grams of shabu valued at P1,339,600.
Police also seized marked money, a gray bag used in the transaction, and an orange Honda Giorno motorcycle allegedly tied to their illegal activities.
Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez lauded the operation, stressing that intelligence-driven campaigns are crucial in dismantling drug networks.
“Every drug haul intercepted and every suspect taken off the streets weakens the illegal drug network and prevents these dangerous substances from reaching our families, especially our youth,” he said.
Mendez commended the operatives for their professionalism and coordination, noting the operation reflects PRO3’s commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda.
Authorities vowed to sustain intensified anti-drug operations across Central Luzon to ensure safer communities.
