The launch also marks the Philippine debut of the Met x Eichholtz collection, inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 5,000-year legacy.

Founded in the Netherlands, Eichholtz is recognized for blending classic design influences with contemporary craftsmanship. Its collections draw from antique, Art Deco, mid-century, and modern aesthetics, while the nearly 160-piece Met x Eichholtz collection translates centuries of art and history into pieces designed for today's homes.

For Muebles Italiano, bringing the brand to the Philippines was about more than expanding its portfolio. According to Kris Gonzales, the company's vice president for Communications and Knowledge Management, the partnership was built on a shared approach to design that became evident when the team first encountered the brand in Amsterdam. “When we discovered Eichholtz in Amsterdam last 2024, it wasn't just an appreciation for their furniture—it was a recognition of a shared philosophy. We instantly connected with their meticulous eye for design and their fearless approach to curation.”

Gonzales said the decision was also driven by its ability to reinterpret historical influences for contemporary living. “What drew us to bring them to the Philippines is their unique talent for bridging the gap between history and the present. They don't just follow trends; they anchor them in tradition. You see this in how they fearlessly combine the gravity of classical statuary with the sharp, modern edge of fine art photography, or how they blend the ornate curves of Baroque motifs with the geometric boldness of Art Deco.”

The collection features reimagined Roman and Greek busts alongside the Chair Louis, inspired by 18th-century French design, and the Imperial Chandelier, whose form references a Greek marble column from the Temple of Artemis at Sardis. Complemented by sculptures, cabinets, mirrors, tables, and seating, the collection reimagines classical influences for contemporary interiors.

For Kar Gonzales, Muebles Italiano's junior vice president and chief operating officer, the collection represents more than beautiful furniture. He said it encourages homeowners to engage with art and history in a meaningful way. “Each piece in the Met Collection carries an intellectual foundation.
