Kara David shares honest reaction to FAMAS tie with Ivana Alawi

Award-winning journalist Kara David gave her thoughts about her recent win as Best Host for Public Service at the first FAMAS Broadcast Awards.

Note that content creator-actress Ivana Alawi also won the same award.

Some critics deem it absurd, noting that Kara is a seasoned journalist with multiple awards under her belt.

Is she actually bothered about it?

During her guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on July 29, the journalist shared that she respects all platforms, including mainstream journalism and vlogging.

"Ako nirerespeto ko yung mga iba't-ibang platforms at natutuwa ako na maraming iba't-ibang tao ang gumagamit ng kapangyarihan ng storytelling para makatulong sa iba," Kara said.

Addressing criticism, Kara acknowledged that her platform and that of Ivana are indeed different.

"Iba ang platform ni Ivana, iba ang platform ko at ng iba’t ibang tao," she said.

All that said, she is not bothered that they tied for the same award.

In the end, Kara shared her hopes for those getting into public service.

"Sana lang, ‘pag nagpa-public service talaga tayo, it’s really for the public, not for ourselves," she related.

Kara won three awards at the FAMAS, including Best Documentary for "Embalsamador De Motor" and Best Public Affairs Talk Show for "I-Listen."
