Taguig police probe assault on motorcycle taxi rider

Police are investigating the assault on a motorcycle taxi rider in Barangay Pitogo, Taguig City.
A video showed the incident on July 27. The rider had just dropped off a passenger and was waiting for another booking when a woman and a man passed by.
The man later returned and punched him. After the assault, the rider left the area.
Police said the victim went to the station’s Investigation and Detection Management Section to give his statement and expressed his intent to file a complaint against the suspect.
The victim’s father, Rolando Siobal, denounced the attack on his son.
“Pasikatin natin tong kup@l na to, nag-aabang ng booking yung anak ko tapos biglang kinursunada yung anak ko, sa may bandang Pitogo my town (Let's make this jerk famous, my son was waiting for a booking and then suddenly my son was singled out, in the area of Pitogo, my town),” he posted on Facebook.
The Taguig City Triskelion Council also issued a statement condemning the violence and distancing itself from the suspect, who is allegedly a member of the Tau Gamma Phi–Pitogo National High School Chapter.
“It has come to our attention that the alleged suspect was identified as a member of Tau Gamma Phi – Pitogo National High School Chapter. In this regard, we would like to make it clear that the Pitogo National High School Chapter, including its Triskelion Alumni Organization, is not under the supervision, jurisdiction, or recognition of the Taguig City Triskelion Council,” the council said.
It added that while the suspect “may claim affiliation with Tau Gamma Phi, we firmly condemn and denounce the actions committed.”
