South Korean actor Jeon Seung-jae, who spent the last two years in a coma after collapsing while filming a television drama, has died. He was 46.

South Korean media reported that Jeon died on Wednesday, July 29, after never regaining consciousness following a cerebral hemorrhage he suffered in 2024.

Jeon collapsed while filming the historical drama "Korea-Khitan War" and was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He was later diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage but remained in a coma until his death.

Jeon began his acting career in 2004 with the war film "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War."

Although largely known for supporting roles, he built a steady career across film and television over the next two decades. His credits included the 2008 action film "The Good, the Bad, the Weird," the hit sitcom "High Kick Through the Roof" (2009), the fantasy comedy film "Hello Ghost" (2010), the historical drama "Splendid Politics" (2015), and the fantasy blockbuster "Along with the Gods 2: The Last 49 Days" (2018).

His funeral is scheduled for July 31. He will be laid to rest at Utopia Memorial Hall in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.

Jeon's death prompted tributes from colleagues and fans on social media, who remembered him for his dedication to acting despite spending much of his career in supporting roles.
