Intruder arrested for stealing pipes in QC

A 31-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly sneaked onto the rooftop of a private establishment in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, and tossed stolen galvanized iron (GI) pipes over a fence on Tuesday night, July 28.
Police identified the suspect only as alias “Je,” a resident of Barangay Pasong Tamo, who allegedly entered the establishment’s rooftop area at around 7:20 p.m. by climbing over its concrete perimeter fence.
The suspect allegedly took GI pipes and threw them into a nearby vacant lot before trying to escape by jumping over the opposite side of the fence.
The incident was captured by the establishment’s rooftop CCTV camera, prompting the complainant’s representative to alert a co-worker about the suspect’s presence.
Another employee attempted to chase the suspect, but he managed to evade capture by jumping over the fence.
Patrol officers from the Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14), who were conducting rounds in the area, later arrested the suspect and recovered two GI pipes worth ₱1,050.
Police said verification showed that the suspect has previous records for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the Anti-Illegal Numbers Game Law, and the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act dating back to 2018.
The suspect will be charged with robbery before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
