- Yayo Aguila has confirmed her breakup with boyfriend Melvin Viceral, weeks after describing him as the most caring partner she had ever had in heartfelt interviews.
The news came as a surprise.
Just weeks after Yayo Aguila spoke about the love and care she had found with boyfriend Melvin Viceral, the veteran actress has confirmed that their five-year relationship is over.
Yayo all but confirmed the split during her guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday, July 28, when she declined to answer questions about Viceral.
The confirmation caught many off guard. Earlier this month, Yayo had nothing but praise for Viceral, saying he cared for her in ways she had never experienced before.
"Parang ang feeling ko, 'Ganito pala maalagaan?' Napagluto niya ako, nilinisan niya yung kotse ko, lahat! Pinagsisilbihan ako."
She also shared how Viceral would always look after her, often insisting she leave the chores to him.
"Lagi niyang sasabihin, 'Huwag ka nang gumalaw diyan kasi alam ko sa buhay mo, sobrang busy ka.' So, siya ang nagluluto... lagi niyang gustong papakainin ako ng masarap."
Even then, Yayo admitted their relationship wasn't without its adjustments.
"Five years na kami pero may moments talaga na nag-a-adjust pa rin kami, kasi nga ang tagal kong sanay mag-isa.
"So, sanay akong ako ang gumagawa ng lahat. Walang nagdidikta sa akin."
Yayo first went public with her relationship with Melvin Viceral in February 2025, revealing they had already been together for four years.
She also reflected on how different the relationship felt from the 25 years she spent with her estranged husband, actor William Martinez.
"May mga bagay na na-experience ako sa relationship na never kong na-experience sa 25 years kong kasama, like I get to travel."
Viceral is not part of show business, although he has ties to the entertainment industry. He is the brother of actress Maricel Laxa and the uncle of actor Donny Pangilinan.
