Woman claims to have romantic relationship with Korean actor Hwang Jung-min

A woman has come out to allege that she was romantically involved with South Korean actor Hwang Jung-min.

The woman made a series of social media posts claiming she had been in a relationship with the 55-year-old actor since 2024.

She also shared what she alleged were messenger conversations and recordings of phone calls with the actor.

Hwang, best known for films including "Hope," is married to producer and former musical actress Kim Mi-hye. The couple have two children.

His agency, Sem Company, denied the woman's claims and said in a statement that she is "the author of the malicious post regarding Mr. Hwang Jung-min" and "a suspect in a stalking crime who has continuously harassed him."

The agency said Hwang had filed a criminal complaint against the woman and that a court had imposed provisional measures against her on three separate occasions, including restraining orders. It added that the court had also issued a summary order fining her 3 million won (about $2,070).

According to the agency, the woman has appealed the summary order and the case will proceed to a formal trial.

The woman has also filed a civil lawsuit against Hwang seeking damages, the agency said.
