Pasay City police looking into Senate theft incident—OSAA

The Pasay City police is now looking deeper into the incident of theft inside the premises of the Senate, the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) assured on Wednesday, July 29.

Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) chief Ret. Gen. Alfred Corpuz made the assurance after a media outlet reported that some of their equipment were stolen. 
According to Corpuz, Congress TV reported that they lost one flat screen television, printers, office supplies and folding tables. They reported the incident to OSAA personnel around 7 a.m.
“The Pasay City police already have persons of interests. Let’s allow the Pasay City police to determine the suspects,” Corpuz told reporters in an interview.
The suspects, according to Corpuz, seemingly destroyed the fence near the GSIS gate where Congress TV pitched a tent for the impeachment trial coverage.
“There’s a CCTV but the tent obstructed the view, so you can’t see the thieves who went inside the tent,” Corpuz said.
Because of this incident, Corpuz said the Senate will once again review its already tight security protocols. 
“We have blue guards, we have police augmentation, we also have the Marines.  But it seems the incident happened when it rained heavily early morning,” he said.
“It looks like we need to double security, see if we can add more CCTVs in the compound so we can see all areas. That one (area) seems to be a blind spot,” Corpuz said.
