NHA turns over houses to families of Tacloban school shooting victims

TACLOBAN CITY – Families of the three high school students who were killed in the shooting at San Jose National High School here last month received new houses from the National Housing Authority on Wednesday.

Recipients were the parents of Chris Lorenz Fabian, Ayeesa Nicole Dazo, and Joyancee Separa, who were shot by two children in conflict with the law (CICL).

These houses are located at the Tacloban Housing Project in Barangay 103 in Palanog, this city.

President Marcos ordered the turnover of the housing units along with other forms of assistance from various government agencies.

Recipients thanked the government for the support but still seek justice for their children’s deaths.

They are calling for an amendment to the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act to lower the age of criminal liability.

One of the CICLs has not faced criminal charges due to his age exemption. Under the law, only those who are more than 15-years-old who have acted with discernment shall be charged for crimes they may have committed.
