Nartatez' inclusion in most trusted gov't officials' list proof that crime prevention measures working--PNP

The inclusion of the country’s top cop in the list of government officials fully trusted by the public is an indication that crime prevention and quick solution policies and strategies are working and on the right track, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
This, after PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr. was recognized as among the country's most trusted heads of government agencies in a survey with an Index of Governance rating of 85.4 percent.
In a statement, Nartatez expressed gratitude to the people for the trust and confidence and emphasized that the public appreciation of police’s best practices and peace and order initiatives played a key role for the recognition.
“The result of this survey brings us the peace and mind that our policies and strategies to serve and protect the people are doing well and are on the right track, and likewise inspire and motivate us to do more on our goal of making every street and community a safe place for everybody,” said Nartatez.
Nartatez attributed the recognition to the sacrifices, dedication and hard work of every policeman on the ground through police visibility and strategic operations, as well as those behind the policies and security adjustments for anti-crime and law enforcement efforts.
In the past months since he assumed the top PNP post, Nartatez has initiated key strategic reforms, especially in the strategic deployment and management of personnel through the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO).
He has been at the forefront of regular updates to check and identify which policies are working or not to immediately adjust in order to maximize the desired results in terms of peace and order.
This resulted in the consistent decline of crime volume, especially on focus crimes data across the country.
Nartatez said the survey result inspires him to continue the reforms and programs that the PNP has undertaken, “This also strengthens his resolve to work harder so that the public will continue to feel safe under the protection of the police.”
The PNP Chief also reaffirmed his commitment to lead the organization with integrity and professionalism. He said police operations will continue to be carried out in accordance with the law while upholding due process and respecting human rights.
