Jollibee, Demi Moore, KATSEYE? 'Animal' music video delivers unlikely pop culture crossover
By Ian Ureta
Jollibee. Demi Moore. KATSEYE.
It's not exactly the trio you'd expect to see sharing screen time, but that's precisely what happens in the music video for "Animal," the latest single from the fast-rising global girl group.
KATSEYE turns up the heat with "Animal," a bold new pop anthem that also underscores the group's growing connection with the Philippines.
Co-written by Grammy Award winner Ed Sheeran, "Animal" explores the contrast between the polished image people present in public and the uninhibited side that emerges in private.
One of the video's biggest surprises for Filipino fans is the appearance of Jollibee.
The beloved Filipino fast-food mascot makes a cameo in the "Animal" music video, a nod to KATSEYE's ongoing partnership as global ambassadors for the iconic homegrown brand. The collaboration has further endeared the multinational girl group to Filipino fans, with the members openly expressing their fondness for Jollibee through various campaigns.
Academy Award-nominated actress Demi Moore also makes a special cameo, making for one of the video's most unexpected moments.
KATSEYE first introduced its new "WILD" era during its debut performance at Coachella, where the group premiered lead single "PINKY UP." Ahead of the release of its third EP, "WILD," on Aug. 14 under HYBE x Geffen Records, fans will also get a closer look at the group's latest chapter through the limited theatrical release of "KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS," beginning Aug. 12.
