Davao Mega Travel Sale rebrands in 2027

DAVAO CITY – Mindanao's premier travel marketplace is entering a new era as the Davao Mega Travel Sale officially rebrands to the Davao Travel Expo 2027, the Davao Travel Agencies Association announced on Wednesday, July 29.

DTAA President Gian Carlo Caguiat told Manila Bulletin that the rebranded event is set to take place from March 5 to 7 next year at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.

Following the milestone conclusion of its 16th edition, Caguiat said that the rebrand reflects an expanded vision to accommodate changing consumer preferences and the evolution of the global tourism industry.

He said the expo will bring together airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, and tourism groups under one roof to promote Davao and Mindanao to more travelers.

"More than a new name, the rebrand reflects a broader vision for the future of travel in Mindanao," Caguiat said.

He added that the expo will offer more destinations, stronger local and international partnerships, and new travel experiences for travelers of all types.

Launched in 2010, Caguiat said the annual event has become one of Mindanao's leading travel shows, connecting travelers with deals from airlines, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and travel agencies.

Caguiat said the expo aims to broaden its scope by offering diverse travel itineraries, ranging from emerging destinations in Central Asia to long-haul expedition trips like Antarctica.

He emphasized that the Davao Travel Expo 2027 aims to become the region's largest travel event, bringing together industry leaders, tourism groups, and travel deals under one roof.

The event is expected to provide a platform for tourism stakeholders to promote their products and services while creating new opportunities to attract more visitors to Davao and other parts of Mindanao.
