800 cops promoted in 3 regions

Hundreds of police officers were promoted in simultaneous ceremonies in the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley regions on Wednesday, July 29.
A total of 196 Police Regional Office-1 personnel were promoted at the PRO-1 Grandstand in Camp Brig. Gen. Oscar M. Florendo, Parian, City of San Fernando, La Union.
PRO-1 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr. led the ceremony as part of the First Cycle Calendar Year 2026 Regular Promotion Program for second-level uniformed personnel from police corporal to police major.
Badua reminded them that every promotion is earned through merit and comes with greater responsibility to lead by example, inspire fellow personnel, and uphold the mission of the Philippine National Police.
"The new rank you wear symbolizes the trust and confidence that the organization has placed in you. We believe in your capabilities and know that you can contribute even more in improving the quality of police service," he said.
On the other hand, 269 police officers were promoted in the Cordillera region.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. Ericson Dilag led the donning of ranks ceremony in Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Dilag reminded them that higher ranks bring greater responsibilities and emphasized the importance of effective leadership, mentorship, and leading by example in every aspect of their service.
Three-hundred thirty-nine police personnel from the Police Regional Office-2 or Cagayan Valley were promoted.
They formally assumed higher ranks in recognition of their competence, dedication, and service to the Philippine National Police in a ceremony in Camp Marcelo A. Adduru in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
PRO-2 Director Police Brig. Gen. Mariano C. Rodriguez reminded them that a higher rank signifies greater responsibility.
“Promotion is not a reward for what you have done. It is a challenge for what you are expected to do next. The rank you wear today is not a symbol of privilege; it is a symbol of greater accountability,” Rodriguez said.
Police Col. Tirso D. Manoli, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division, read the promotion orders and presented the newly promoted personnel.
