Woman shot dead by caretaker in Lipa City

LIPA CITY, Batangas – A 32-year-old woman was gunned down by a caretaker in Purok 4, Barangay Pinagkawitan, this city, on Monday night, July 27.
Police identified the victim as Rhenz Elieth Barette Bruzon.
Investigation said a heated argument erupted between the suspect, Leo, 41, and the victim over his salary as a caretaker.
The victim hit the suspect with a hammer and in retaliation, the suspect took the gun owned by the victim's husband and shot her. The victim was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.
The suspect was arrested by responding police officers and recovered from him was a caliber .45 pistol with two magazines and ammunition.
He faces appropriate charges before the Lipa City Prosecutor's Office.
Meanwhile, a man seated in front of a sari-sari store was gunned down in Barangay Looc, Calamba City, Laguna on Monday evening.
Victim identified as Edwin, a resident of Barangay Looc, who died on the spot at about 7 p.m.
The suspect was wearing a blue Joy Ride jacket, pants, and a black helmet, and fled on a white motorcycle towards Barangay Uwisan, Calamba.
Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation and manhunt operations.
